Reader Precision Solutions, Wisconsin DWD Host Commemorative Event for National Youth Apprenticeship Week
In partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Reader Precision Solutions celebrated the U.S. Department of Labor’s inaugural National Youth Apprenticeship Week at Its headquarters in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
The event served as a platform to discuss the importance of Youth Apprenticeships and showcase stories of apprentices already making significant contributions to the manufacturing industry. Emphasizing the crucial role that these programs play in equipping high school students with the skills necessary to thrive in a competitive job market, the event also highlighted the importance of strengthening the ties between education and industry to cultivate a capable and resilient workforce for the future.
A roundtable discussion was held that brought together industry leaders, educational partners, the Wisconsin DWD, and current and graduated youth apprentices to discuss the impact of the youth apprentice program and how they can continue to work together to foster the program across the state.

Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Wisconsin DWD toured the Elkhorn, WI precision machining facility where cutting-edge technology and skilled craftsmanship come together to create a hub of innovation. During the tour, the facility showcased its state-of-the-art machinery and automation systems that are integral to modern manufacturing processes. She had the opportunity to witness firsthand how these technologies are not only applied in real-time production environments, enhancing efficiency and precision but also are the equipment and tools youth apprentices are trained on.
