MRO
Buyer
The MRO Buyer is responsible for the procurement, replenishment, and management of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies across Reader Precision Solutions. This role ensures uninterrupted production by maintaining optimal inventory levels of tooling, consumables, PPE, and shop supplies. The MRO Buyer collaborates closely with production, quality, materials, facilities, and external suppliers to ensure tooling availability, cost control, and operational efficiency in a high-tech Swiss screw and CNC machining environment. Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday: 6:30AM - 3:00PMEssential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Tooling & Tool Crib ManagementReplenish tooling through the tool crib matrix system to ensure uninterrupted production.Establish, monitor, and adjust tooling min/max levels based on usage trends and production demand.Special order tooling as required for new jobs, engineering changes, or unique applications.Work with vendors on special-use, trial, or prototype tooling.Source alternative tools/equipment when availability issues arise with current suppliers.Communicate proactively with suppliers regarding lead times, backorders, and availability concerns.Request and manage expedites when necessary to prevent downtime.Consumables & PPE ManagementManage procurement and inventory levels of consumables, including PPE and shop supplies.Source and purchase maintenance and repair components to ensure equipment uptime and minimize operational downtime.Evaluate PPE requirements in partnership with operators and department leaders to ensure safety compliance and operational effectiveness.Set up and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs where appropriate.Monitor consumable spend and identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, or discrepancies.Address and escalate any pricing, supply, or usage concerns impacting operational budgets.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork with the Materials team to ensure timely and accurate receiving of purchase orders.Partner with Facilities to procure cleaning agents and building maintenance consumables.Learn and support raw material purchasing functions as backup when needed.Develop working knowledge of outside processing services and provide backup support as required.Maintain strong working relationships across Purchasing, Production, Quality, Materials, and Facilities departments.Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain strong supplier relationships.Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms when applicable.Evaluate supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery.Identify and qualify new vendors to ensure continuity of supply and competitive pricing.Additional ResponsibilitiesMonitor overall MRO spend and provide reporting or recommendations to leadership.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing processes and inventory control.Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Continuous Improvement Engineer
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving efficiency, safety, and process optimization across Reader Precision Solutions’ advanced machine shop operations. This role is project-focused, driven by the needs of the Company and its employees, and emphasizes hands-on execution to support lean manufacturing initiatives throughout the production floor. Working closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams, the Continuous Improvement Engineer will identify opportunities, implement sustainable improvements, and foster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.This position offers exposure to Swiss machining and CNC machining, while also collaborating with cross-functional departments and applying industrial and systems engineering principles. The engineer will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on daily operations while learning the intricacies of precision manufacturing.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Continuous Improvement ProjectsPlan, coordinate, and execute lean and kaizen initiatives across all production departments. Lead 5S projects in mechanical and CNC tooling areas to improve organization, ergonomics, and productivity.Support the design and optimization of workstations and part cleaning stations across the production floor, including improvements to finishing and secondary equipment areas.Lean MethodologiesImplement lean methodologies such as 5S, standard work, visual management, and waste elimination.Conduct time studies, process mapping, and ergonomic assessments to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.Documentation & Systems MaintenanceDevelop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), training documents, and maintenance records.Maintain and optimize the use of the Matrix Tool Crib software to ensure tooling accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency.Create visual management tools (charts, signage, work instructions) to reinforce standards across departments.Hands-On SupportCollaborate directly with department leads to trial and validate new processes.Provide hands-on assistance in fixture assembly, workstation setup, and organization of materials or kits, requiring basic use of tool room equipment such as mills and 3D printers.Act as a resource for ergonomic improvements, ensuring compliance with safety policies and enhancing operator comfort and longevity. Material Transport Driver
Reader Precision Solutions is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Materials Transport Driver whose primary responsibility is driving and transporting raw material and components between our facility and outside process vendors. This role reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and plays a critical part in maintaining efficient material flow and on-time delivery. When not assigned to daily vendor runs, this individual will support the Materials, Shipping, and Purchasing departments with operational needs.Work Schedule:This is a full-time, benefits eligible position requiring 40 hours per week. Core work schedule is Monday – Friday from 6:30am – 3:00pm. Individual must be flexible to work overtime as needed.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Transportation & Driving (Primary Responsibility): Operate company-owned non-CDL DOT flatbed truck and/or 18-foot company van in a safe, professional, and compliant manner. Complete daily (daytrip only) runs to outside process vendors to transport raw material and machined components to and from the facility. Load, secure, and unload materials and components to ensure damage-free transport. Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with the Purchasing, Materials, and Shipping teams to support production and vendor timelines. Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, pickups, and material transfers.Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance:Perform routine vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT and Company requirements.Maintain cleanliness and organization of all assigned Company vehicles (interior and exterior).Promptly report mechanical, safety, or maintenance concerns to leadership.Ensure vehicles are operated in compliance with all safety regulations and Company policies. Departmental Support (When Not Driving):Outside Process: Assist and provide back-up support to the outside process department. CAD & Workflow Coordinator
The CAD & Workflow Coordinator is responsible for creating accurate, high-quality working drawings and supporting operational excellence initiatives across the organization. This role uses Autodesk Inventor to develop models and drawings while ensuring compliance with industry standards. In addition to design responsibilities, the position supports process documentation, standard operating procedure (SOP) development, workflow standardization, and continuous improvement efforts, including identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: CAD Design & Engineering SupportReview client drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with customer standards and requirements. Create detailed working drawings and models using Autodesk Inventor based on client prints, concept models, or engineering requirements. Finishing Technician
Job Summary: The Finishing Technician at Reader Precision Solutions plays a critical role in ensuring that machined parts meet all required specifications and are ready for on-time shipment to clients. This position involves performing various finishing operations (parts washing, tumbling, passivation, etc.) of components using high-tech finishing equipment, monitoring workflow to accommodate high-priority jobs, and maintaining proper inventory and equipment maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC Swiss machines to produce precision components.
