Michael P. Reader Appointed to Gateway Technical College Board of Trustees
Elkhorn, WI — April 10, 2025, Michael P. Reader, President of Reader Precision Solutions, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for Gateway Technical College, representing the Walworth County District. His three-year term, beginning in July 2025, highlights his ongoing commitment to reshaping the educational landscape in manufacturing and workforce development within the region.
The Board of Trustees at Gateway Technical College serves a vital governance role, linking the college to the broader community and overseeing the strategic direction and accountability of the institution. Their responsibilities encompass setting policies that define the college’s services and impact, establishing ethical boundaries for executive decisions, managing and evaluating their own governance processes, and ensuring effective delegation and accountability of authority to the College President. The Board of Trustees directly influence educational programs that are integral to the economic and social fabric of the community.

Reader’s appointment is recognized for his substantial contributions to Gateway Technical College (GTC), notably by continuing the legacy of his father, Michael J Reader, who spearheaded the establishment of the RPM Manufacturing Center at the GTC Elkhorn Campus. This center has become a cornerstone for training in precision machining and manufacturing processes. Like his father, Reader has been instrumental in advancing Gateway Technical College’s nationally recognized role in enhancing technical education and bridging the gap between high school education and high-demand industry skills across the tricounty region.
Reader Precision Solutions has been a key player in supporting Walworth County’s K-12 workforce development initiatives, facilitating numerous programs aimed at equipping young learners with early technical skills and exposure to manufacturing careers. These efforts reflect the company’s long-standing partnership with local educational institutions to foster a robust talent pipeline for the manufacturing sector.
Alongside Reader, the board also welcomes Nicole Oberlin and Tamara Coleman, who will also serve three-year terms. The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board will approve and ratify all three newly-appointed Board of Trustees on May 20, 2025.
